New York fare hikes and my trip!
So we start off this morning with another fare hike in the Big Apple.
Boy, as if we don’t live in an already expensive city, we now have to shell out more money to travel and congestion pricing has not even been sorted out yet.
Now you know why the kids jump the turnstiles. How old were you when you first did that? (if you ever did).
Now on to my usual morning commute horror story.
So I start off this morning, admittedly in a bad mood, and head to the subway.
My first stop is to buy my newly inflated metrocard. Guess what, the vending machine does not work. I get an error that they cannot process my transaction so I have to try it again. Little do I know at this point that when I get to work and check my account that my bank will tell me that the transaction did go through. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder where that card went? Has that ever happened to you?
Anyway I head on to the train and I’m there listening to my music. This lady is standing next to me hold her little girl. The girl keep grabbing for my headphones and so I give the mom the dirty eye. I guess that was a mistake since she decided to get revenge for the evil eye by Not to tell the little girl to behave.Such etiquette. Instead when they get off the train the little girl grabs my headphones and pulls on it as she is getting off and yes my precious $99 iphone headphones are now caught in between the closed doors. I guess they didn’t like me because I wear button fly pants or maybe it was my comment about her seeming lack of prowess in taking personal cleaning and showers.
I get a few people trying to “Assist” by pulling on the headphones, thoroughly making sure that some internal damage is done. My sudden want to scream at these “helpers” builds. I have no idea why they want to be “all up in my bizzznes”.
Man I should have just stayed home.
These trips are raising my blood pressure.
I wish people could have emoticons over their heads when traveling. That way they’d be able to tell if someone just wants you to step off. When I am on the train, I am definitely not a people person or maybe my meds are not quite working.
Ok maybe i am just making small talk and I bitch too much. Just give me my iphone and my pacifier and let me go to sleep.
And i hope that lady has a bad hair day

Haha, that is a nice story. NYC can be a big pain in the you know where to commute. I hail from DC and we have similar pains to go through with the metro system and city buses, I feel your pain.
Keep up the good work

Pity you man. This would seriously give me some high up hypertension with small kids, you can’t scold them and when you talk nicely, they don’t seem to understand!!!

It’s been five years and our fare transfer in our transit does not increase. It’s weird that other services have already raised their price.
Well, we really just had ‘those” days when things don’t fall into the right places
